Lakesha is a London based (Wolverhampton born and bred) Theatre Director, Playwright and Dramaturg. Recently Soho Theatre’s Associate Director, now incoming Associate Artistic Director at Clean Break.
Lakesha has a passion for telling empowering stories that centre Black diasporic communities with much spectacle and heart. The live performance work often incorporates striking music, movement and other visual elements to create bold theatricality.
Lakesha has a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Theatre Practice: Creative Production, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Drama and Master of Arts degree in Playwrighting.
With experience in directing and writing 'On Screen Theatre', Lakesha has developed skills and a taste for screen work. Previous roles include Resident Director at Soho Theatre and Resident Assistant Director at Finborough Theatre.
